“The entire lower ground floor was unavailable as useable space for our family. We called in nimtim to look at solutions. They listened carefully to what we needed and came back with three alternatives to unlock the space, modelled out in drawings that we could visualise and a very helpful hand-made scale model. Each of the three designs was completely unexpected and took us beyond what we had thought was possible to do with the house.
We have lived in it now for almost 2 years, and it has transformed the house and our lives in it. It is full of light, connected, spacious and open to the garden, while somehow matching and responding to the existing framework and structure of the original Victorian building. We really enjoyed the process, and found nimtim to be incredibly thoughtful and perceptive in how they understood what we thought the house needed, and incredibly creative in how the solved the house and unlocked its potential.”

"We are a mental health charity that provides free long term psychotherapy advice and group support for the residents of Lambeth and Southwark. The nimtim team visited our existing premises in order to understand how we currently used our existing space, and to get a granular understanding of what we wanted to achieve. They researched the most cutting-edge and therapeutic mental health cultures and spaces they could find around the world. They immersed themselves in books and ideas, to create a thoughtful, vibrant and creative spaces. They brought the same rigour to the design process; they created 5 different plans with different staff and client configurations. They also helped us to get full costed plans together to take the project to the next stage. The nimtim team exceeded our expectations and we now have a blueprint for how to convert our space into a really innovative space, that blends privacy, with lots of opportunities for group work and conversation. A collaborative process between owner and architect resulted in an open plan design maximising space, whilst respecting the character of the property. They were able to translate my ideas and expand on it, further improving the idea.
