Last Saturday the nimtim team headed to Becontree to meet residents and talk to them about our plans to transform twelve neglected corner plots into spaces for rest, meet, grow and play.
It was great to hear so many different voices and get a sense of hat matters to the local community the most. We start all of our projects, regardless of scale by asking questions, playing games and testing scenarios. We design together: informed by the ideas and ambitions everyone brings to the project.
From this emerges buildings and spaces full of playfulness and spirit - celebrating uniqueness and difference and resonating with the people that live/work/play in them.
Putting people at the centre of the process creates stronger communities, better and more sustainable buildings and healthier and happier lives.
in this event the 3D models were an excellent starting point for engagement. Post it notes were used for people to communicate their ideas/ concerns/ suggestions. They helped people envision our proposals in an accessible way.
